Template: Agreement for Evidence Collection by a Third Party

Assessor can't be there?

Sometimes evidence for a claim for competency can be collected by someone other than the assessor. In cases like this, it’s a good idea to spell out the commitment of the other parties involved and document the agreement made.

This template for an Evidence Collection Agreement gives an easy outline of what responsibilities the RTO (assessor) and third party will have and agree to when it comes to collecting evidence for the assessor's review.

The tool contains a template for an agreement to provide a third-party verification report and a template for when the third party will be an evidence gatherer. It also contains a brief forward containing guidance about when third-party evidence collection might occur and what the difference is between these circumstances and a person collecting evidence while working under direction.

All of the ASQA recommendations for supplementary evidence are addressed in this template.

So, if your RTO's assessment system uses third-party reports or relies on evidence collected by third parties, consider integrating an Agreement for Evidence Collection into your Quality System.

Note that this product is not a template for a third-party report or template for an observation checklist for use by a third-party.
