When using experts at your RTO
 
The Outcome Standards make specific provision for RTOs to use Industry Experts in the delivery of training, and the assistance with assessment.
 
Included in those provisions are the requirements for experts to demonstrate vocational competency and currency in the specialised industry or subject matter expertise they have that must be directly relevant to what is being delivered.
 
And, the RTO is expected to have a system in place for ensuring meet these competency and currency requirements.
 
Use this tool as a way to document an expert’s suitability against the Outcome Standards’ requirements as well as the RTO meeting compliance obligations in Outcome Standards 3.3.2a(i)(ii), 3.3.2b, and 3.3.2c(i).

Note: While experts must work under direction, this tool is not suitable for use to document vocational competency and currency for trainers (working under supervision arrangements or otherwise).
