Template: Observation and Performance Checklists

Valid capture of skills as performance evidence has proven to be a systemic challenge for RTOs with previous audit reports from the National VET Regulator pointing toward the following issues:
 
Direct cut and paste from the unit requirements
Lack of clear instructions regarding task to be performed
Lack of assessment criteria and/or criteria that does not describe observable behaviours
Insufficient benchmarking to support reliability prinicples
Simulations/role plays without observation instruments
 
With this template, you can contribute to more robust assessment systems, processes and practices by including comprehensive, descriptive observation checklists for use when assessing a student's practical application of knowledge and skills.
