RTOs can use the DDEER Model to facilitate self-assured high performance

When it comes to audit time for RTOs, auditors will be interested in seeing:
What are you doing about XYZ
How you are going about it
The evidence of what you've done
How your RTO is acting with integrity, whereby integrity is doing what you say you will
Expanding on the Whitehouse 'Say, Do, Show' system, DDEER is a model to guide an RTO's approach to its process ideation, application and improvement.
DDEER is:
Define
RTO’s Position
Define what will happen
Define the RTO's interpretation/justification of the matter
Outline how the RTO will meet the requirements
What will happen?
Demonstrate
RTO’s Actions
Demonstrate what happens/happened
Demonstrate how the RTO approaches its obligations
Demonstrate what the RTO does to meet the requirements in the way it said it would
What happens/happened?
Evidence
RTO’s Proof of Actions
Have evidence to prove what the RTO is doing/has done
Ensure the evidence is valid, relevant and accessible when needed
What proof is there?
Evaluate
RTO’s Performance
Evaluate the RTO’s performance to confirm whether it did what it said it would do
Evaluate the RTO’s performance to determine if what happened matched what was said would happen
Evaluate performance using data and evidence
What was the outcome?
Review
For Continuous Improvement
Review the RTO’s performance with the aim to do better
What can be better next time?
Where necessary, feed the answers from the 'Review' stage into a new definition of the RTO's position.
